Do You Know Someone Who Can Adopt Mimi?

Spread the Word! FOSTER/ADOPT MIMI

Volunteers are OBSESSED with 8 month old puppy MIMI (ID# A0994962)! MIMI is a shy puppy who is friendly, with warm brown eyes.

She is looking for a a family that will reassure her and guide her into becoming a confident adult. She is still figuring things out at such a young age and has found herself in a very confusing place – the animal shelter.

This does not stop her from enjoying a nice bacon treat provided by her friend the volunteer who told us, “From the moment I met her, I just knew she was special.

Her gorgeous white coat, with unique brown spots provided an immediate attraction. As I leashed her up, she submissively came out of the kennel, tail slightly tucked but wagging and beautiful brown eyes gazing up at me.

At only 8 months old, Mimi is still figuring out the world and she is so eager to let you teach her. As we walked through the building and on the street, she stayed close to me, wanting the reassurance that I could provide her as her handler, her new friend.

She passed dogs in a friendly manner, but her focus constantly returned to me, and making sure she was doing what I want her to do.

During photo time, she often tried to nuzzle my hand or legs, showing me just how passive she is. I comforted her and we returned to taking pictures, but she wanted more love!

I decided to sit with her for some time and she rolled to her side and let me rub her belly, absolutely gleeful that I seemed to be enjoying our time together as much as she was.

Mimi is a gentle angel, one who needs a family that will help build her confidence and while still encouraging her sweet demeanor.” Go and meet her at MACC today and if you really want to grease the wheels of affection with MIMI bring a little bacon!

Formal behavior evaluation: “AVERAGE”
Mimi walks calmly on the leash and was shy but friendly during the assessment – low body and tail but trying to stay close. She was nervous during handling but had soft body language.

She had a low body position during the tag test, but followed the assessor at the end of the leash. She did not resist being handled while eating and was easily pushed out of the food bowl. She showed minimal interest in toys and was easily handled while chewing on rawhides. Mimi was cautious when approaching the helper dog, but showed no aggression.
